Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone is having a great week so far.
As some of you may saw on Instagram over the weekend, I attended the Wanderlust 108 5K/Yoga tour at my local park in the Seattle area! This was my second time attending the event tour in my town (I attended last year as well) and it is probably my favorite fitness event.
So what is Wanderlust 108? Before I get into today’s post, let me provide a little bit of background. Wanderlust 108 is “the world’s only mindful triathlon”. The event is like a concert tour but for fitness. The organization tours around to different cities and countries around the world to provide this triathlon. The event consists of a 5k run, followed by yoga, and meditation (and some other optional yoga classes as well). You can find more information about the event here at the organization’s website.
Over the past few years, I’ve slowly been getting more into running and have so much fun participating in 5k’s. But what makes the Wanderlust event so much more fun than any ordinary 5k is that it offers yoga and other fun activities. I developed more of a passion for yoga in my early college years and participated in yoga classes at my university’s rec center and have so much fun with it. Yoga really is a great workout, even if it doesn’t seem like it. Especially after a 5k run, yoga and stretching is just what I need.
The 5k is super low-key, it is non-competitive and not timed. Everyone is just there to have fun and get a good workout in! I’m not a huge fan of intense competitions, I know most 5k’s that are timed can get a bit competitive and I’m just not really about that. I love how laidback Wanderlust is.
Wanderlust 108 partners with Adidas each year for the event, which includes a pop-up Adidas shop. Wanderlust 108 and Adidas collaborate on apparel for the event and they have the cutest activewear and other merchandise (for men and women!). There are also plenty of other vendor booths that attend the event to promote their products as well. To name a few, Hippeas, Flow Alkaline Spring Water, Breathe in Detroit, Chilly Cow, and much more. Vendors that attend are primarily promoting healthy foods, activewear, jewelry, and more.
I had a lot of fun at this event and love starting the tradition of attending each year. It’s a great way to workout in a very relaxed environment and also get an amazing workout in. I highly recommend this event to anyone! You don’t have to be a total fitness guru to attend or the best runner ever, just a fun opportunity to workout and maybe even learn some yoga techniques! Check out the Wanderlust 108 website for tour dates to attend an event near you!
