This summer I have spent SO much time outside enjoying this Seattle heat-wave and I wanted to share with y’all my summer bag essentials, featuring my absolute must-haves for days that I am out in the sun.
1. Beach Towel
No matter where I am going around the PNW, my beach towels are always useful, especially for days at the beach or at the lake. This Sand Cloud towel is one of my favorites because of the super cute boho design and how lightweight and thin it is to bundle and carry around throughout the day (They also serve an amazing cause which is a total plus!!).
2. Beach Tote
Beach totes are some of my faves because they’re all so cute! I usually get mine at Target because they are trendy, cute, and affordable. Unfortunately, my exact bag from above is no longer in stock but there are so many other cute totes to choose from as well, Target is the best!
3. Waterproof Phone Holder
This is an actual lifesaver – for smartphones – (first world problems). This is my absolute favorite summertime necessity. Because let’s face it, we bring our phones everywhere, even into the water, and this phone holder is SO handy. I take my phone out into the water with my waterproof phone holder all the time and I can take so many pictures without worrying about my phone getting wet. Seriously a must have and super affordable. There are so many places you can get them, Amazon being one of the top places to look. I got mine at American Eagle about a year ago and have got so much use out of it already.
4. Hawaiian Tropic Spray Sunscreen
My favorite spray-on sunscreen. Hawaiian Tropic products smell SO good and the spray-on sunscreen is so lightweight and easy to apply. It almost feels as if it’s not even on after applying it. Super affordable, under $20 at most drugstores and Target.
5. Sun In Hair Lightener
Love this product! I have used this product every summer for the past few years and I just can’t get enough of it! The perfect way to naturally lighten your hair in the sun, saving you a trip to the salon. For me, I already have seasonal hair, my hair gets lighter in the summer and darker in the winter. But just to enhance how light my hair actually does get in the summer, I spray Sun In a couple times on days I am out at the beach or the lake to get a nice light look on my hair. And it’s super affordable! Under $5 at Target!
6. Mountain Dew Baja Blast
A can or bottle of soda is always a must on days out in the sun, the perfect refreshment. My go-to’s are always either Mountain Dew Baja Blast, Coca-Cola, or Dr. Pepper.
7. Cap
Total California vibes in one of my favorite summer hats, the pitstop trucker hat from Billabong. Absolutely love the beachy tropical vibes of Billabong and love their hat selection! The “California Love” cap is under $20.
Plus, you can’t go wrong with a pool float! This large duck float is massive and I love it! Super IG-worthy. This float is from Walmart for under $40 and can fit at least 3 people. I just took it out over the weekend and had SO much fun!
