Work Wear Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!  Some exciting news over here and something I’ve been keeping a little bit of a secret that I am SO excited to share with you all today – I am starting a new series on my blog called Work Wear Wednesday (WWW)!  As I have started a new job and entered the working adult world right out of college, I’ve been brainstorming ways that I could showcase more of my outfits that I wear to work, and figured this new series would be the perfect way to do so.  So, every Wednesday I plan on sharing some cute wear to work outfits from some of my favorite places that I wear to work on a regular basis that I hope adds to your workwear inspiration and gives you some ideas of what you might want to wear to your work as well!

One thing I wanted to mention as something you can expect from these kinds of blog posts, I work in an office with a super casual dress code that I could honestly show up in a t-shirt and jeans, or even leggings, every day.  While I know that is not the case for everyone, I plan on sharing a bit of a variety of office wear clothing from the more casual side, to city chic, and office professional too so there is something for everyone to take away from these posts.

Since starting this job, I’ve been living by the phrase, “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.”  Just because I work in a casual environment, why not come to work overdressed?  People will take you more seriously and you’ll stand out more in the crowd and hopefully get that promotion too!  I’ve also been having so much fun putting together outfits for work each day that I cannot wait to share with you all throughout my new series,  I literally switch it up each day between casual, city chic, and office professional.

One store that I have been shopping at that I am actually really surprised with the cute selection of more “office-like” clothing is Forever 21!  The “Forever 21 Contemporary” collection has a great variety of work clothing all at a super affordable budget and has been so great since starting to shop for work clothes.  I ordered this dress on clearance for literally $10 and it is so cute for work if you pair it with a basic white tee underneath to make it more work appropriate.  Forever 21 also has such a cute selection of dresses for summertime right now that can easily be worn to work with a more casual dress code.

Some stores that have been my go-to for shopping for more work clothes are Lulus, Nordstrom Rack, Forever 21, H&M, Target, and Abercrombie – so definitely expect more outfits from these stores in my future WWW posts.

As this is my first post in my new series, I’d love to know your thoughts! Is this new series something you would enjoy and benefit from and like to see more of?  Let me know below!

Thanks for reading!
