If you follow along with me on Instagram, you probably saw I had a pretty eventful, or maybe I should say entertaining, weekend this weekend and wanted to share a little storytime and a closer look into my life. I really want to try to start doing these kinds of posts more often, but most of my weekends are spent working on the blog and there’s only so much I can write about that without boring all of you guys reading haha. But, this weekend, in particular, I’d say was pretty note-worthy and I cannot wait to share all the details with you all.
I was actually feeling a little under the weather on Thursday and Friday and just took it easy after work both those days. My boyfriend, Josh, loves to golf and he’s really into it. We usually make a little date out of it when he wants to go to the driving range. I come along and read my book and often hit some golf balls too since he teaches me a bit about it also. So our Friday night date night consisted of golf and movies which was so relaxing and much needed.
For a majority of the day Saturday I had a lot of work to do for the blog with a lot of brand campaign deadlines to meet coming this week over on my Instagram. After much-needed rest the night before I actually felt insanely productive and got SO much done for the week all in about a 7-hour timespan, honestly wish I could be that productive all the time. But make sure to stay tuned for some awesome brand collaborations coming to my Instagram this week! I was so excited to partner with such awesome brands!
On Saturday night, my neighborhood actually had a little block party that I went to for a little bit, such a fun thing to do in the summertime and get together with neighbors! Josh and I actually couldn’t stay too long because we had a little college reunion event to attend which was a ton of fun! Some of our friends that we went to college with have been getting together every couple months or so to catch up after graduating and stay connected with each other and it’s so fun as recent college grads to catch up with old classmates and kind of see what everyone is up to now after not seeing each other on the regular anymore. We went to Middleton Brewing in Everett, which if you’re a Seattle local, highly recommend this place for a night out! The brewery has a ton of local brews and is dog-friendly and has a dog of their own, I think a border collie, that wanders around the restaurant and comes by each table, so cute!
Saving the best for last, sorry for the suspense haha. Sunday definitely got off to a crazy and hilarious start and was probably the best part of the weekend. Josh and I were having a low-key Sunday morning, we made a big breakfast and had a cozy morning in watching some movies together.
I guess I should provide a little bit of background here first, as we were making our breakfast, the kitchen got a little smokey from the cooking, so we opened the backdoor to let the smoke out and get some air in the house. We left the door open as we were watching our movie for my dog to come and go as he pleased. About an hour later, we kept hearing these loud banging noises coming from the kitchen/family room area and what almost sounded like wings flapping. I turned to Josh and was like, “I think there’s a bird in the house!” We went to go check it out but couldn’t find anything so brushed it off. About a half-hour later, our movie ended and I had gone upstairs to go get ready for the day and soon after Josh had come running upstairs and was like “There’s a bird in the house!!” I came running downstairs, toothbrush in my mouth and all, and there was the little bird sitting on the window inside the house trying to get outside.
Josh snuck up on it carefully to scoop the little bird up and let him outside, which worked great, he was able to get ahold of him and let him outside, until the little bird flew right back in the house! This time he flew all over the house and, oh my gosh, we were laughing so hard out of fear, entertainment, and also just trying to help the little bird get outside! I saved a little highlight to my Instagram stories of the video if you’re interested in watching, it was SUCH entertainment lol! The little bird was flying literally everywhere and we kept chasing him down to help him get out since he was getting further and further away from the door. After about 5 minutes, we were able to get ahold of the bird again, and this time, he was set free and flew away! I had not experienced a bird in the house in about 15 years and it was definitely entertainment haha.
After the craziness that was Sunday morning, we ended the day with a short hike at Snoqualmie Falls with my dog and it was a perfect little workout (that reminded me how much I need to get back into a workout routine again!) and a nice way to relax on a gorgeous summer afternoon.
I hope you all had a great weekend and have a great week ahead of you!
