My Fitness Must-Haves

Since January, I’ve put myself on a regular workout routine, a goal that I make each and every year and usually give up by the beginning of February. But this year, I have been fully committed and already feel so proud of that considering it’s almost April! So, today, I wanted to share some of my fitness favorites and things I love using or wearing while working out. Let’s get started!

My Favorite Things to Wear While Working Out:

Some of my favorite things to wear while working out are a good pair of leggings (for working out any time of the year besides Summer since it’s usually too hot for leggings then), my Nike Tanjun’s, a good pair of athletic socks, and a good sports bra.

I’ve tried SO many different pairs of leggings when it comes to working out, and my favorite for working out is always my Lululemon leggings. They are the best! They’re not skin tight where it prevents you from moving too much, they really flow with you and are so comfortable, good for any kind of workout! I’ve had mine since high school and each time I need to wear leggings while working out, my Lululemons never disappoint. While on the pricey side, they are so worth it and last forever!

I also always struggled with finding a good sports bra to wear while working out that really held me in and was comfortable. After a lot of trial and error, I personally LOVE the Aerie sports bras from American Eagle, they hold me in perfectly and are also cute and comfortable. I hardly ever buy from any other brand now!

Accessories I Love Using While Working Out:

I never go a workout without wearing my Apple Watch and Air Pods, they are seriously the BEST! I got my Apple Watch last year as a college graduation gift and it has been a total game-changer for me, I wear it every single day.  It really pushes me to stay active throughout the day, no matter what I’m doing since you can see your activity levels throughout the day. The lower it is, the worse it makes me feel haha, really pushes me to get out and exercise! But what I love the most about it when I’m working out is that it can track so many different kinds of workouts. I typically record a workout when I’m walking my dog, running on the treadmill, indoor cycling, yoga, and more! And I love how I can see how many calories I’ve burned in each workout. I highly recommend getting an Apple Watch or some type of activity tracker for working out, they’re the best!

I also love using my Air Pods during my workouts to listen to music or podcasts! They stay in place so well and never fall out of my ears during my workouts. My old plug-in headphones fell out all the time and it got super frustrating. Having Air Pods now has really been a game-changer as well! Highly recommend getting Air Pods for workouts, or some other type of wireless headphones!

My Favorite Workout Equipment:

My go-to place to get some good workout equipment is always Target, they’ve got a great selection! Having some of your own workout equipment is always a must in cases where you can’t make it to the gym. Due to COVID-19 and gym closures, I am so glad to have some at-home workout equipment to stay in the groove of working out. And you really don’t even need too much to get in a good workout too, just a few of the basics!

I always shop from the Tone It Up brand at Target because their workout equipment is the cutest! I use their dumbbells and resistance bands and love the pretty colors. I also recommend having a yoga mat to have a designated place you can workout at in your home and to use for traction during your workouts, and even if you attend yoga classes as well!

    1. Yes!! I totally know what you mean, I’m guilty of that like every year haha. But this year I had a couple different things that really motivated me to keep going. I didn’t like the way I felt when not working out, I felt weak and lazy and just didn’t like that feeling. Working out regularly has made me feel so much stronger and overall better about myself. I started to gain a bit of weight that I didn’t need and knew it was best for my body to put myself on a routine. Things like that!

      But I think I’ll write a blog post about this actually since I know what a struggle it can be, thanks for asking and giving me some inspiration! And I hope this helps a bit!

  2. Great job sticking with it this long!

    Fitness has improved every aspect of my life, from discipline to health.

    Everything alive has to abide by the 3 fundamentals: Movement, Nutrition, Rest
    🤔

    Fitness incorporates all these together, it’s the best you can do for your wellbeing.

    It is even likely that the sole reason a brain even exists is for movement. To make calculations and navigate diverse terrain, receiving input from sensory organs.

    This sort of thing is EXACTLY what I enjoy exploring and writing about 😏
