The summer months are my favorite for so many reasons, one of them, in particular, being out in the sun on warm and sunny days or by the water. Because of the amount of time we spend in the sun or at the pool/beach during these months, I like to keep a fresh and natural face of makeup that lasts. So today, I will be sharing some of my favorite go-to makeup products that I use on a regular basis throughout the summertime. These can all be shopped at the end as well if you’re interested in any of these products!
The summer months are probably the only season out of the year where I consistently wear a fresh and natural face of makeup that looks as if you’re not wearing any at all, and I definitely love this time, as I’m sure my skin does as well.
My Go-To Summer Makeup Products:
1. Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen with SPF 40
I was gifted this sunscreen as part of a brand collaboration a couple months ago, and it has actually become one of my favorite sunscreens for the summertime! It’s super easy to apply and can actually serve as a primer before applying the rest of your makeup as well, while also protecting your skin with SPF 40. I’ve always been pretty bad about applying sunscreen, but since this has become a part of my summer makeup routine, it’s super helpful in ensuring I wear sunscreen every day.
2. Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara
Finding a waterproof mascara that I actually like and that works for me had always been such a struggle until I finally found the Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes. I had tried out so many different drugstore makeup brands’ waterproof mascara and none ever worked well for me. Last year I relied a lot on the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara and loved it, so when I saw they also had the waterproof mascara, I knew it’d be something that I liked, and it has been my go-to waterproof mascara since! It makes your lashes insanely long because of how buildable the application is. The more layers you apply to your lashes, the longer-looking they appear, and they do SUCH a good job in resisting water for days when you’re at the pool or beach.
3. Maybelline Define-A-Line Eyeliner Pencil in Brown
Because of how fresh and natural-looking I like to keep my makeup routine in the summer, I typically wear brown eyeliner instead of my usual black. Because I have hazel eyes and light brown/slightly red hair, the brown eyeliner really works well with my tone and makes my eyes pop even more while also looking very natural. This define-a-line pencil has literally been my go-to since junior high school and has been my holy grail eyeliner ever since. Works so well!
4. Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer
This is one of my favorite bronzer’s I’ve tried because it’s affordable and also smells really good! It’s lightly scented with coconut which is so perfect for the summertime.
One thing I wanted to note particularly about this bronzer is that it actually applies pretty heavy. I try to use a light layer all over my face because it can easily get caked on in one spot with too much bronzing powder and can look too orange. A light layer all over should work just fine and provides a nice summer glow.
5. Neutrogena Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
This is my all-time favorite tinted moisturizer during the summertime that can even be used as a summer foundation. I apply it each day with my beauty blender sponge and it even has SPF 20 in it as well to protect your skin. It provides a nice bronze for your face and pairs nicely with the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer too.
