Diablo Lake at North Cascades National Park: Friday Favorite

Happy Friday, hope everyone had a great 4th of July week!

I feel like I have been so MIA this week – it has been so busy with the 4th of July and everything.  Definitely a week full of summer fun.  But I am so excited to share with you all my favorite of the week!

To celebrate the 4th, my boyfriend and I took a drive up north to Diablo Lake at North Cascades National Park.  This place is literally Banff 2.0, the Banff of Washington state.  It is SUPER breathtaking!  Seriously no filter needed on photos!  The water is so turquoise and it is just absolutely amazing, I love pretty-colored water!

The lake has many spots for you to hang out by the water, to see the view from the iconic viewpoint, or to hike the 7-mile roundtrip hike.  Since my boyfriend and I drove about 2 hours to get to the lake, we wanted to make the most out of our trip.  We spent quite a while admiring the amazing view and taking pictures.  Then we did the hike and spent some time at the lake after to cool off and walk around in the water.  It was SO hot and humid out that we couldn’t wait to get in the water.

We finished off celebrating the 4th with my family for an outdoor BBQ and set off some fireworks.  It was a lot of fun!  I used to do the same thing a lot when I was younger but traditions sort of changed over the past few years.  Everywhere gets so busy in the Seattle area on the 4th for all the different fireworks shows so we thought we would set off our own instead, so much fun to relive those childhood moments.

How did you spend the 4th of July this year? Comment below!!
