How I Use My Erin Condren Life Planner

About a week ago, I received my very first Erin Condren Life Planner and I was beyond excited.  Recently, I discovered Erin Condren Life Planners on Instagram through following one of my role models, Nastia Liukin, who recently did a brand collaboration with Erin Condren, designing her own life planner cover.

After seeing her collaboration, I instantly adored it and felt that it was perfect and just what I needed.  Nastia’s cover design includes her life motto that I believe to be super motivating, “Be Fearless.”  I love the powerful quote with the pretty pink color and pink and white stars surrounding it, definitely a girl’s type of planner!

I started exploring and found the gold-medal collaboration.  When going to purchase, I found it so awesome to have the freedom of customization of how I wanted my planner to look on the inside (such as horizontal or vertical layout) as well as my name printed on the cover.  I loved it and had so much fun designing and customizing it!

But moving on.

I have noticed that as I get older and my life schedule seems to get crazier and crazier, I am becoming one of those people who needs to have things written down in order to motivate myself to get things done and check off tasks from my lists.

But I didn’t want just any ordinary black and white planner you can find at the office supplies store, I wanted something colorful and fun to look at as I plan out my day to day life.  And I have found that Erin Condren planners are the way to go to make that happen.

As I have started using my planner, I think one of my favorite things about it has to be the motivational quotes.  The quotes are everywhere through the planner and they are definitely words that I like to hear, and words that motivate me to work towards my goals.

When penciling in my day to day tasks, I like to match the fun and color of the planner by using some glittery gel pens of my own to make it look pretty.  That’s just something I like to do to make it more fun to look at!

Going about the actual planning process, I like to go week by week and day by day for the most part.  In the month calendar portion, I like to plan out little things throughout the week that I’d like to accomplish, such as goals I am currently working on, as well as using the Erin Condren sticker pack to mark important dates such as birthday’s or appointments.  Shown in the image above, I have penciled in working out every night of the week that correlates with my list of goals on the side panel of the calendar.  This is because fitness and training for upcoming 5k’s are currently motivating me to put myself on a regular fitness routine, and penciling this in on my life planner really pushes me to get that done each day.

When I look at the weekly calendar views, I like to write down important things happening that day such as my goals or whatever else that might be happening, while finishing the day with a thankful thought or reflection of the day’s goal in the little side box at night time before I go to sleep.

For those who love planning or being organized and motivated, the Erin Condren life planner is definitely a must have.  It is seriously one of the best things I have purchased in quite a while.  I have never felt so motivated to stick to my goals, in such a fun and creative way too!

Instagram RoundUp

Reflecting on my blog’s growing Instagram profile, I decided to do something different today and write a blog post regarding a couple of my Instagram’s top liked and most viewed pictures.  If you’re on Instagram, make sure to follow me @justkelsco to follow my day to day life.

1) Looking back at November 24, 2016, I wore one of my favorite fall outfits for Thanksgiving and felt so cute wearing it.  Definitely my go-to outfit for fall and showing off those fall colors.

2) One of the best vacations.  This photo is from my vacation over Spring break last March, visiting sunny Los Angeles, California.  I absolutely loved Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach and walking around the beaches, boardwalk, and towns, while catching some California sun rays.  Definitely going back again soon.

3) A must have.  Referring back to one of my recent fashion & beauty blog posts, I wrote a post about my trial run of e.l.f.’s Nourishing Night Cream and how well it was working for my skin.  I definitely recommend, not to mention it’s also super affordable.

4) Love love love.  These makeup/beauty products are amazing.  I use the primers every day and they are wonderful.  I never knew how big of a difference primers could make on my makeup routine before I started using it.  Along with the primers, I love Tula’s beauty products and always make sure to use their exfoliating treatment mask every three days.

5) One of my favorite places.  This photo was taken last summer in Langley, Washington, on one of my many visits to Whidbey Island.  Not only was the weather amazing, but the clear view of the mountains in the background reminds me why the pacific northwest is the best.

6) This photo was taken in my room in my current apartment where I decided to display one of my new towels/tapestries from Sand Cloud for room decoration.  As a brand ambassador for Sand Cloud, I am always sure to keep up to date with their products and how I can make use out of their cute towels.

7) This photo was taken at the top of the Space Needle in Seattle as I was home for Presidents’ Day weekend not too long ago.  I love looking at this photo because it always reminds me of such a fun day that I had with my boyfriend and the fun adventures we went on together that day.

5 Of My Favorite Ways To Unwind

We all encounter stress in our day to day lives.  From work, school and homework, hobbies, and maintaining some kind of social life, these things can all catch up to us.  But at the end of each day, I am always making time for these five things that help me unwind and relax before bedtime.

1. Cozy pajamas and Netflix

Throughout the day, basically, all I look forward to is coming home at night to curl up in bed in my pajamas and watch some of my favorite TV shows on Netflix.

2. Listen to my favorite music playlists

From Spotify to Pandora, I have so many music playlists for any kind of mood, whether it be calming and relaxing music or a workout fitness playlist, I’m set for anything.

3. Talking & spending time with my boyfriend

One of the things I love about my boyfriend is that no matter what may be going on in life, he is always there and calms me down when I am stressed and overwhelmed with school or work.  At the end of the day, I always look forward to time spent with him.

4. Play around with my dog

They say pets are the best medicine.  And I believe it.  I have had my dog for over ten years and he is totally my buddy.  Playing with him at the end of the day always lifts my mood and I have so much fun with him.

5. Keep up to date with social media

After my homework is done for the night, I find it relaxing to scroll through Instagram and Facebook, and even pinning things that I like or would like to try on Pinterest.

Fitness Playlist

Beginning the new year and getting a start on my resolutions, I have begun to create a fitness music playlist for each time I am at the gym.  I have created a specific playlist for my fitness routines to keep me energized and motivated throughout the entirety of my workouts, featuring some of my favorite music artists, Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris.

Saying Hello to 2017

It’s so crazy to think how fast the past year has flown by, how is it already 2017? Even though it’s a bit sad to say goodbye to one year, I always look forward to starting a new year.  With new opportunities, fresh starts, goals, new years resolutions, etc. it’s always fun to get excited for the new year to begin.

I am probably not the only one who has made resolutions each new year and then fail to follow through with them.  That is me just about every single year.  This year one of my resolutions is to actually follow through with my resolutions.

Saying hello to 2017, I have two or three main resolutions that I am hoping to maintain throughout the year.  My first resolution is to put myself on a healthier diet and exercise more regularly, and my second resolution is to keep more organized and decluttered.

1. Maintain a healthier diet & exercise regularly.

Today I am proud for having started the beginning of one of my resolutions of eating healthier and cleaner.  I made my first visit to Jujubeet Juice Bar and tried out one of their healthy and fresh smoothies and am already starting to feel better about my healthy diet resolution for 2017.  It is a goal of mine this year to visit more healthy juice bars for each time I crave smoothies and juices.  Along with healthier eating choices, I hope that my more regular exercise schedule will make me feel better and even more healthy.

2. Organize & Declutter

As I am living in two different places right now, it stresses me out thinking of the things I have at each place and what to do with it all.  With all of my furniture and personal items in my apartment at school, as well as everything I have at home, I can’t help but get overwhelmed.  Being at an age of constantly moving around, it is a goal of mine this year to sell some of my things and make use of storage containers, closet space, etc. to declutter and keep all of my things in one place.

Starting off the new year with goals and a fresh start, I am looking forward to what this year brings and feel good about welcoming 2017.  What are your resolutions this year?
