If y’all know me, you know I have like the thinnest hair in the world that just does not grow, and it can be SO frustrating! I’ve tried so many things over the years to help grow my hair out and thicken it up and it has definitely been a process, but I now have a little routine of things I do to make my thin hair look thicker that I will be sharing with you all today if you’re on the same struggle bus as I am, because you’re not alone!
I wanted to start off by sharing that I do wear hair extensions, but if I’m being completely honest about this, my extensions are just that, extensions. They add length to my hair but are actually just about as thin as my actual hair, which is SO thin.
For at least 6-8 years, I’ve been trying all of the vitamins and supplements I could that help hair growth and nothing was working for me, it was so frustrating. But for the last 2 years, I’ve been taking Sugarbear Hair gummy vitamins and they ACTUALLY work! My mind was blown. I had felt so defeated for years that my hair just wasn’t going to grow, until I tried Sugarbear hair and starting noticing progress! Obviously, results don’t happen overnight and it does take a little bit of time before you start noticing results, but after having taken them every day over the last 2 years, my hair has grown about 3 inches and is actually starting to get a tiny bit thicker too which has been awesome! It’s recommended to take the vitamins twice a day, but they are sugary so I just take them once a day and still notice progress.
I think one of my key recommendations for making thin hair look thicker is by curling and styling your hair, it really does make a difference! I will admit that on days when I wear my hair straight it does look incredibly thin, so I love to curl my hair a lot just to add volume. I curl my hair with the T3 Micro curling wand with the 1″ barrel and I love the perfect beachy waves you can create with the wand – worth every penny! I like my curls loose and wavy so I don’t start very close up to my roots, and I always leave a couple inches out on the bottoms for that perfect beachy look.
After I’m done curling my hair I use the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Body Builder texturizing spray and it helps so much with adding extra volume. The spray is customizable to your liking so you can choose more or less volume depending on what kind of hair you want. For me, I always choose the most amount of volume and it is great at adding some body to my hair and also kind of serves as a hairspray too – my look lasts all day with this spray which I love!
All of the products I mentioned in this post are linked below through my Amazon page if you’re interested in any of them – which I highly recommend if you have the same struggle as I do!
