My Nightly Routine

Throughout quarantine, I’ve really prioritized my morning and evening routines to keep myself on a good schedule while staying home to help stay motivated and positive during these uncertain times. In case you missed it, I shared my morning routine blog post here last week where I shared all the things I do each morning to set the tone and my intentions for the day while keeping up with good and healthy habits. So today, I figured I’d share my everyday evening/nightly routine and everything I do to end my day on a good note to go along with my morning routine post!

What a typical evening looks like for me:

4:00pm-4:45pm: At-Home Workout

4:45pm-5:30pm: Work on blog (brainstorm content ideas, catch up on emails, respond to DMs), engage on Instagram

5:30pm-6:30pm: Evening walk with my dog + Josh

6:30pm-7:15pm: Dinner

7:15pm-9:00pm: Hang out and relax with Josh catching up on our TV shows + dessert (or sitting outside when the weather is nice)

9:00pm-9:30pm: Shower + Self-Care

9:30pm-9:45pm: Journal + Reflect on the Day, Plan out the next day in my planner

9:45pm-10:30pm: Read in bed + Engage on Instagram

10:30pm/11:00pm: Bedtime

Ever since quarantine started, I’ve done free workouts I found on YouTube or through Pinterest every day after work, but looking over my 2020 health and fitness goals, I knew I wanted something a bit more from the workouts I was doing. I wanted a consistent workout schedule layed out for me focusing on different parts of the body each day and a calendar to keep me on track, along with some healthier meal options and recipes. After looking aroud, I stumbled across The Live Fit Girl (The Fitness Collective app) by Deanna Dorman and it had everything I was looking for! Good workouts for each day of the week that you can do from home, a schedule to keep you on track, and healthier meal recipes to cook to tie along with your health and fitness goals! I’ve been doing Deanna’s workout program through her app for a couple weeks now every single day and have been absolutely loving it!

After working out, I love to sit and unwind while catching up on blog work for the day by catching up on emails, responding to DMs on Instagram and engaging with my IG community. At about 5:30, around the time Josh gets off work for the day we love to go on walks with our dog (weather permitting) to get some fresh air and enjoy each other’s presence, while also pooping out our dog for the evening, and is always such a good way to unwind and de-stress.

After our evening walks and cooking dinner, we love to just hang out and relax after working all day and either catch up on our TV shows we’re watching or sit outside on our patio if the weather is nice. I always look forward to this chill time in the evenings after working all day to really just enjoy each other’s presence and hang out.

By 9:00pm, I start to get ready for bedtime by taking a shower and treating myself to some self-care using some of my favorite skin care products. After I get out of the shower, I usually put on my hydrating night cream and revitalizing eye cream and then use my ice roller to help my skin. I’ll also typically do a face mask 2-3 nights per week and then the same routine after.

After I get out of the shower while my hair is drying, I like to take some time to myself and write in my journal to reflect on the day, and also plan out the next day in my planner and write down any certain tasks that I need to get done on that day to help hold me accountable and remember to do it. I then end the night by reading my book and spending some more time on Instagram engaging with my IG community and usually take a sleep vitamin 2 or 3 nights per week to help with my sleep.
