Over the past couple of years, I have tried out a variety of different leggings, because let’s face it, leggings are life, especially right now. Throughout quarantine, I’ve practically been living in my leggings from working from home, at-home workouts, walks with my dog, and lounging around at home.
What I love about them are that you can pretty much wear them with anything, dress them up for special occasions, dress them down for athleisure/weekend wear, working out, and even hanging around at home. Today I wanted to compile and round up five different brand leggings for you all and categorize which brand of leggings to get for a specific type of activity, which brand works best for which workout, price, quality, and more.

Leggings Brand #1: Lululemon

Lululemon leggings are great for just about anything and everything and are my number one favorite, go-to leggings. What I love about Lululemon leggings are:
- They are amazing quality
- They’re super comfortable (probably the most comfortable leggings I own)
- Great for lounging at home
- Great for yoga, running, pilates, hiking, just about any workout
- They last a long time
While Lululemon leggings are definitely more on the pricey side, they are 1000% worth the price you pay. I’ve gotten so much use out of mine over the years, and they last forever! I actually just bought my second pair in 2019 because my first pair I bought in 2013 had finally gotten too old and over used, so about 5-6 years they lasted me! Very much worth the price you pay.

Leggings Brand #2: Fabletics

I just started buying from Fabletics this year, but in the shorter amount of time I’ve worn their leggings, I’ve loved them! Fabletics leggings are designed to be cute and fashionable workout/atleisure wear and I’d say they are perfect for just that! Some things I love about Fabletics leggings are:
- Very cute and stylish
- A very large selection to choose from with new pieces coming out each month
- Great for working out
- Great for throwing on for athleisure/weekend wear
In the time that I have worn Fabletics, I don’t necessarily use them for ‘lounging around at home’ type leggings as I don’t find them as comfortable enough for that. I’d say they are better for workouts, going on walks, or throwing on for some errands as athleisure/weekend wear!
Fabletics can also be a bit more on the pricey side, but they actually offer a VIP program to sign up for which can get you so many great discounts! You can click the link here to get your first 2 pairs of Fabletics leggings for just $24 when you sign up for a VIP membership!
Overall, love and can’t enough of their cute selection! I’ve actually only ever bought black leggings before, but finally switched things up when I discovered Fabletics and now have so much more bright and fun colors to choose from when working out which makes it so much more fun, because who else feels a bit more motivated to workout when you get to wear cute workout clothing!?

Leggings Brand #3: Aerie

I also just started buying from Aerie this year as well for a more affordable option for cute leggings and think these are a great option if you’re not looking to spend too much money on a pair of leggings. What I love about Aerie leggings are:
- The price tag – much more affordable option!
- Cute selection to choose from and great variety
- Great for yoga workouts, pilates, and other indoor type workouts
Aerie also has a cute selection of joggers and other loungewear pieces that I love and has become a new favorite, go-to brand through quarantine with all of the working from home. While the quality isn’t as great as Fabletics and Lululemon, it’s still pretty good!

Leggings Brand #4: Zella

I’ve worn Zella leggings for a couple of years now and think these are also a good option if you’re not looking to spend too much money on leggings! I see them at Nordstrom all the time, but I highly recommend checking Nordstrom Rack before going to Nordstrom because literally every single time I go to Nordstrom Rack, they’ve got a massive selection for basically half the price you’d pay at Nordstrom. Some things I love about Zella leggings are:
- They are a more affordable option (when you buy from Nordstrom Rack rather than Nordstrom!)
- Comfortable and perfect for lounging around at home
- Good for outdoor workouts (walking, hiking, running)
One thing I wanted to note though about Zella leggings is the quality isn’t as great as other, more expensive leggings. I’ve noticed the material is a lot more thin than Lululemon and Fabletics and can tear a bit easier. Overall, another great option if you’re looking for comfortable, lounge at home type leggings and for other outdoor activities too!

Leggings Brand #5: Spanx

Spanx is definitely more of a ‘dress-up’ type of leggings. I actually bought the Spanx faux-leather leggings last year during a Nordstrom sale and got SO much use out of them from wearing them to work. You can’t even tell they’re leggings since they look pretty dressed up but you get all the comfort, which is the best part! Before quarantine started in the late winter, I was wearing them to work practically every day because they went with everything and looked dressed up enough to wear to the office. Some things I love about Spanx leggings are:
- They’re made with great quality and last a long time because of that
- They’re the best of both worlds, look more fancy and dressed up while enjoying all of the comfort of leggings
While more expensive to purchase, you definitely get your money’s worth out of them since they last so long! I wore mine practically all winter long since they went with everything and looked so much nicer than any ordinary pair of leggings.
