Happy Thanksgiving! This week has been such a crazy week with Thanksgiving and all of the early Black Friday sales going on. As a blogger, it’s probably the most overwhelming week out of the whole year. I never post every single day of the week, but I really wanted to try and even out shopping guides/sales round ups and personal/lifestyle content to not overwhelm you all as well.
In the midst of this crazy week, I wanted to take this time on Thanksgiving to write out all the things I’m thankful for this year with the year that 2020 has been. No matter how you’re celebrating today, I encourage you all to take some time out of the day as well and step away from the Black Friday deals for a minute and really reflect on this year and all the positives in your life rather than focusing on the negative; what are things you’re thankful and grateful for? If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s to really appreciate the things you do have than the things you don’t, and that has made all the difference.

ONE: My Health
Given 2020 has been the year of one of the worst global pandemics, I am probably the most thankful for my health this year and staying healthy. While I have had some minor/non-serious health issues this year, I am overall healthy and am very grateful for that.
TWO: My Job & My Blog
2020 has also been a year of a lot of unemployment and job loss due to the recession from the pandemic.
A little back story if you’re new around here. I currently work full-time in finance marketing and have been working the same job for over a year now. Looking back on this year and getting this job just one year ago, I am very grateful that I was able to get this job in my field to further my career and that I am able to work from home due to stay-home orders. Given how tough this year is for a lot of people, especially those just out of college and entering the job market, I have felt extremely grateful that I am able to have a job in a pretty stable industry that has allowed for so much flexibility due to the uncertainties of this year.
I am also incredibly grateful for all that 2020 has brought for my blogging business. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been running Just Kels as a side hustle for over 4 and a half years now. None of this could be possible without you guys reading! With all of the time I’ve spent at home this year and having more time to work on my blog, I’ve had so much opportunity to grow my blogging business and is probably the year I’ve seen the most growth with Just Kels so far. Due to a high increase in online shopping trends this year and with everyone staying at home, the blogging industry is truly thriving this year. Every day I write in my gratitude journal how thankful I am for this opportunity and how far Just Kels has come and makes me so excited for the years to come!

THREE: My Boyfriend and Dog
I truly do not know how I would’ve survived 2020 without my two best friends; my boyfriend, Josh, and our golden retriever, Charlotte. We have had so much fun together now that we’ve been home a lot more than usual. While Josh and I are homebodies, we like to go out, travel, etc. and have definitely spent a lot more time at home this year and Charlotte has definitely appreciated that haha. The three of us practically do everything together now! Going out for daily walks, watching movies and binging new TV shows, cooking at-home meals together, playing games, etc. I am very grateful to have these two by my side.

FOUR: My Family
I am also very grateful for my family and their health this year with everything happening in the world. While family gatherings haven’t exactly happened as much this year, we still talk on the phone a lot and are able to spend time together in some way, especially this holiday season.

FIVE: My Home
While there are many things I dislike about Washington like all of the rain and cold weather, this time of year especially, this year has made me really appreciative of the pretty state I live in. While I absolutely love traveling and experiencing new places, I am very grateful, this year especially, to be living in a nice apartment that has everything we need, and to be living in a nice town.
